«I have been influenced by the discontinuity of the Tokyo urban context. It has a formal front and informal inside, which many foreign friends pointed out when they came to Tokyo. I reconsidered the structure of the Tokyo city and thought that I liked that gap and started to try using that composition for architectural design”

Taku Sakaushi – Profesor adjunto en la Universidad de Ciencias de Tokio. Nacido en 1959 en Tokio. Máster en Arquitectura por UCLA en 1985, Máster en Ingeniería por el Instituto de Tecnología de Tokio en 1986, Doctor en Ingeniería por la Universidad de Shinshu en 2007. Profesor en la Universidad de Shinshu en 2008 y en la Universidad de Ciencias de Tokio desde 2011. Cofundador asociado del estudio O.F.D.A. architects en 1998. Premio Internacional de Arquitectura por “Re-tem Tokyo Factory” en 2007, y Premio SD por “Movement and Scenery” en 2017. Autor de Architectural Episteme (Lixil Publishing Co., Ltd., 2017), Architectural Design Capability (Shokokusha Publishing Co., Ltd., 2020) y Origins of Architect (Shokokusha Publishing Co., Ltd., 2022).
